Movie to explore body shaming
Film director Abhishek Saxena’s upcoming rom-com titled ‘Saroj Ka Rishta’ starring Sanah Kapur, Gaurav Pandey, Randeep Rai and Kumud Mishra is already receiving positive response. The director kick-started the shooting of the movie in Mumbai city.
Abhishek, who has earlier made a small budget Punjabi film, ‘Phullu’ on the issue of sanitary hygiene in order to spread the word to rural areas, makes ‘Suraj…’ about culture of body-shaming in India but the film essentially revolves around a father-daughter relationship with Kumud Mishra and Sanah at the centre.
There is also a love triangle with the two heroes Gaurav Pandey and Randeep Rai in pivotal roles, he shares. The story is by Deepak Kapur Bhardwaj and the film is produced by Anmol Kapoor, Nazia Javed Siddiqui, Nariner Garg, and Ambica Sharma.
The director whose film ‘Phullu’ was released before ‘Padman had an issue on how CBFC treated his film. While Phullu was given an "A" certificate by the censor board during the tenure of Pahlaj Nihalani as chairman, PadMan was passed with a "U/A" certificate under the chairmanship of Prasoon Joshi. Both Phullu and PadMan talk about menstruation and the taboo around it.
