Update: 2018-12-11 05:30 IST

Invitations and gifting have, over the time, become creative expressions and as sky becomes limit to the enthusiastic few, who like to be different and exclusive in their invitations, the new age artists are living up to the demand.

The Fida sisters Sakina and Rashida are up to making important occasions into the most special ones by adding a pinch of creativity to the invitation cards and gifts. Started in the year 2015 in Hyderabad ‘Pretty Gilded’ has come a long way. The co-founder Sakina shares the story.

“We are basically a design studio, we specialise in wedding invitations, and also do branding and packaging. I think this is a story in short that began three years ago when I was getting married. I was not happy with the invitations available in the market. I have had a design background and I am an architect by profession, so, I thought that I could do this better and that’s how I started off. Few months later I asked my sister Rashida, who is a Physiotherapist by profession and is also on the creative side to join me.

Tell us about the different invitation designs available at ‘Pretty Gilded’.
Our invited are way different from any other invites in India, specifically in Hyderabad. It is not the traditional stuff you get everywhere. They are clean and minimal and not very heavy. We use pastels and floral colours. We do a lot of invites that are based on couple themselves. For example, we try to incorporate their story on the cards.

What kind of customers approach you?
Our target customers are people, who are looking for something extraordinary, and who put in a lot of effort and time for their special occasion. We also concentrate on people, who want to represent their story though an invitation card. We also do e-invites.

What would be the cost of these cards?
All of our invites are custom-made and not bulk-produced. Everything is based on the order and the price is based on the quantity. It would be around 200 to 250 for each card, approximately.

Did any of the celebrities approach ‘Pretty Gilded’?
Yes, we have been approached by a couple of celebs.  We got a call from Allu Arjun’s office for some personal stationary. We are currently doing Diana Penty’s Christmas boxes and we also partnered with Dhoom Dham Weddings, run by celebrity stylist Tanya Ghavri.

What do you have for Christmas gifting?
Our stationary has been popular for Christmas gifts. People are choosing to give personalized stationary sets, notebooks and paper-based Christmas hampers have been really popular with our clients. We have stationary boxes which are different and has your name on it.
