UoH team wins zonal round

Hyderabad: The students’ team of the University of Hyderabad (UoH) won the zonal round of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Policy Challenge on Friday. The team beat Madras School of Economics, Christ University Bangalore, and St. Teresas College Kerala in the earlier rounds. 

The event was organised on topic: ‘Assessment of recent inflation expectations survey of households and suggesting a suitable policy response’. The team made a power point presentation about 15 minutes before the jury comprising of Prof. Shasank Bhide, Director, MIDS, Prof M Suresh Babu, IIT Madras and Radhika Merwin, The Hindu Business Line. The jury posed questions to the team comprising of Soumyajit Ray, Atish Kumar, Madhurima Chandra, and Pravesh.

Prof. Debashis Acharya, Deans Students Welfare (DSW) was the faculty advisor. The team won the cash prize of Rs15, 000 along with certificates of appreciation. The team will compete in the national round to be held soon at RBI, Mumbai before the Governor, and Deputy Governors of RBI.  RBI Ppolicy Challenge has been a yearly affair started by the then Governor Raghuram Rajan.
