Twist n Tales at St Andrews Prep

Secunderabad: A festive atmosphere pervaded across the sprawling Keesara campus housing St Andrews Prep when it organised its annual sports day. Excited and enthusiastic toddlers presented a pleasant sight as they displayed their ‘talent’ in all seriousness to the utmost delight of the large gathering, which included parents, school personnel and grandparents.

The meet was declared open jointly by Renuka Masih, Principal of the institution, and Hyacinth Emanuel, Managing Director of St Andrews School. In keeping with the occasion and the commemorating the day’s merriment, the event was aptly themed-Twist n Tales.

Blending the spirit of nursery rhymes and fairy tales with sports, the ‘events’ included races like Pat a cake, Ten Little Indians, The Thirsty Crow, Old Macdonald, Goldilocks and three bears, among several others. Lest one mistakes it for an entertaining outing, the young boys and girls, attired for the occasion, came up with their best ‘performances’.

Not to be left behind, the parents also had their own races-sack race, Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush, Scarecrow and Solve the Puzzle. The applause was loudest from the kids, who cheered for their elders.

It was a day when they were no winners because all were, in their own individual way. Later, Ashish Emanuel, Director AE Group, spoke about how holistic development of each and every child was the governing motto of the St Andrews' Group. While urging parents and guardians to ensure that their wards are encouraged to take up physical activity, he also praised the dedicated efforts of the staff, including faculty, for upholding the school’s status.
