New Delhi: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has extended till March 18 the deadline for the competition to design a logo and tagline for the Ayushman Bharat programme. "The competition was launched on February 19 and will now conclude on March 18," the ministry said in a statement.

"This shall be done through a 'digital crowd sourcing campaign' on MyGov portal," it said. The Ayushman Bharat programme is the world's largest government-funded health programme that includes the National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS), under which 10 crore poor families will be provided medical coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year.

Apart from the financial protection for medical emergencies, the Ayushman Bharat programme announced in the General Budget last month aims to strengthen primary, secondary and tertiary health care system in the country. "The main aim of the competition is to generate awareness among the population about these health sector initiatives and engage them towards ownership in shaping a healthy India," the Ministry said.

The theme of the logo is 'Ayushman Bharat' and guiding principle is 'Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Niramayah' (May all be happy, May all be healthy). People can submit either digital logo or a handmade design on the digital platform, it said. The award prizes are Rs 25,000 and Rs 10,000 for the first and the second positions, respectively. The Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare would hand over the prizes in a live streaming event on MyGov and other social media portals, it added.
