Hyderabad: Dr. Mohammad Ismaiel, DST-Inspire faculty in the Centre for Earth, Ocean & Atmospheric Sciences (CEOAS), University of Hyderabad (UoH) has participated in an International programme ‘IODP-381’ (Corinth Active Rift Development) in MARUM, University of Bremen, Germany recently. He was the only Scientist from India to be part of this expedition.
Dr Ismaiel was part of an International Scientists team that had analysed the first sediment samples ever drilled from Greece’s Gulf of Corinth, an active continental rift where Earth’s crust expands and thins.
