Seminar on ‘Economics of Happiness’ held in Hyd

Hyderabad: The Economic Committee established in 1938 is a sister organization of Exhibition Society & Osmania Graduates Association during the  pre-independence era & immediately after inpendence, it was actively engaged in  surveys & giving reports & advice to the government. 

In present times , the Committee conducts seminars, symposiums and talks on topic of current interest  On Saturday, a seminar on Economics Of Happiness  was organised.  It was attended by Col(retd) Dr.V.P Singh Professor of Medicine, Bharati Vidya peeth medical college,Pune. 

At the seminar Dr.Singh highlighted the difference between gross domestic product (GDP) Gross National Happiness GNH) supported by statistics from global sources  He said that it is important to focus in making society happy instead of focusing only on making people monetarily rich. It ended with a vote of thanks by .Sainath D.Shastri joint secretary Economic Committee.
