Seminar on ‘Revised NAAC Framework’ held
Hyderabad: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Bhavan’s Vivekananda College organised a national seminar on “ Revised NAAC Framework: The Road Ahead towards Excellence in Quality Education” on Saturday. The programme commenced with Bhavan’s Prayer and welcome address by Prof. Y.Ashok, Principal & Seminar Chairman.
He welcomed the dignitaries of the programme– Sri I.Y.R. Krishna Rao, IAS (Retd), Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan; Air Cmde (rtd) JLN Sastry, VSM, Vice-Chairman, BVB; Chief Guest, Prof. V.S.Prasad, Former Vice- Chancellor, Dr. BRAOU Former Director, NAAC; Guest of Honour Dr.G.Srinivas Joint Secretary & Head, UGC, SERO; Key note Speaker Dr. Ganesh A. Hegde, Deputy Advisor, NAAC.
The Principal stated that he was looking forward for an enriching seminar that will be helpful to the college in the process of reaccreditation. Dr.K.Vasudeva Rao, IQAC Co ordinator & Seminar Convenor elucidated the scope and objectives in his Seminar Concept Note address.
Air Cmde (Rtd) JLN Sastry opined that the students’ satisfaction element that has been introduced in the new NAAC format is a true reflection of the institutional performance. He expressed a hope that the expert views presented at the seminar will help the institution to raise the standards of academic excellence.
The Guest of Honour, Dr. G.Srinivas gave valuable insights into the process of NAAC accreditation. He stressed that the assessment by external agencies will enable the institutions to systematise the process and streamline the maintainance of records. He also recommended that institutions should not lose sight of their core strengths and also the teaching learning process, in the race to meet the requirements of NAAC.
