New Delhi:  Silicon Valley-based online education platform Udacity has announced a new "Cybersecurity Nanodegree Programme" to train professionals who can develop innovative and sophisticated solutions to safeguard against data breaches.

While businesses and individuals around the world have moved to cloud platforms to host their data, the talent pool of cybersecurity professionals has not kept pace with the increasing demand. The new programme aims to prepare highly-motivated learners for critical roles in advanced technical applications of Cybersecurity including Artificial Intelligence (AI).

"With quintillions, bytes of data generated every day, securing data and privacy of individuals and businesses is of utmost priority for every company. While the demand is increasing exponentially, there lies a huge skill-talent gap in Cybersecurity field," Ishan Gupta, Managing Director - India, Udacity, said in a statement.

"Our new Cybersecurity Nanodegree Programme would be a job-ready programme on cloud security emphasising modern patterns and defence automation. Students will learn how to build powerful security solutions by leveraging the power of modern cloud services," Gupta added.

Launched by Udacity founder Sebastian Thrun at the RSAC 2018 in San Francisco, the students will also be provided $50,000 in scholarships along with RSA Security. Earlier this year Udacity had announced the "Flying Car Nanodegree Programme" to upskill students with autonomous flight technologies.
