Sports Day at Pallavi Model School
Hyderabad: As the day set in to spread joy and happiness through the rejuvenating rays of sun, Pallavi Model School, Alwal with its proud stake holders and the students gathered to celebrate Sports Day on Saturday last.
The programme was begun by lighting of the lamp by the guest of honour, M Komarraiah, Chairman of Pallavi Model group of schools followed by prayer song rendered by the school choir. There was a march past by students of grade 8 to 12 while the salute was taken by the General Manager Gopal Rao, A.Sushil Kumar, Director of PMS Boduppal and Sunir Nagi, principal PMS Alwal. The sports meet was declared open after lighting the cauldron.
The sports day included series of health and fitness regimes that started off with ADI YOG and lined up with drills and Kalosthenos, the theme that exhibited exercises without the use of machines. Students from pre-primary to grade 12 enthusiastically participated in the sports day program.
The chairman presented The All-Rounder awards and the National Level players with mementoes and medals to honour their rendition towards academics and the sports. The chief guest, Saidaiah, DIG Prisons, Telangana state gave away the prizes to the athletes and also presented the best house in literary, sports as well.
He addressed the gathering with his motivational words that called sports to be a major subject of interest and appealed to parents to allow children to take up a sport as a hobby to build strong and obesity- free nation. The event closed with lowering of the flags followed by national anthem.
