Andhra Pradesh Becomes First State to Publish 2012 Crime Statistics

Andhra Pradesh is the first State in the country to publish State Crime Statistics for the year 2012

Hyderabad: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy inaugurated the newly constructed building belonging to the Crime Investigation Department (CID) located in Lakdi-Ka-Pul on Monday afternoon. He was accompanied by his cabinet colleagues J Geetha Reddy, Mukesh Goud, and Danam Nagendar. MP Anjan Kumar Yadav and Mayor Majid Hussain were also present.

Earlier, the Chief Minister was welcomed with the guard of honour. He also launched the AP Police Logo and Hand Book meant for CID Officers including a CD containing data titled 'Crime in AP 2012'. Andhra Pradesh is the first State in the country to publish State Crime Statistics for the year 2012. Later, the Chief Minister flagged off two new vehicles purchased by Traffic Police department.

The new building was constructed with an expenditure of Rs 11.30 crore. The 34,064 sq. ft spacious structure will accommodate different wings like CID administration and crime sections of Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Protection of Civil Rights Wing (PCR), Telangana Zone, Coastal Zone and Rayalaseema Zone.

Rs 4 crore donated Uttarakhand victims The Andhra Pradesh Police Department has donated its one-day salary amount Rs 4 crore to the victims of Uttarakhand floods that left thousands of families in shatter and tragedy. Each employee from home guard to DGP contributed their share for the whooping donation. DGP Dinesh Reddy handed over a cheque of Rs. 4 crore to Kiran Kumar Reddy. DGP V Dinesh Reddy, RTC MD AK Khan, Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma were among the many others who participated in the programme.
