Revenue and civic officials put on alert in view of the lake filling to the brim

Speaking to newsmen at GHMC main office, Krishna Babu pointed out there are no gates for Hussain Sagar. As a result, problems are being encountered to pump out excess water, which should invariably pass through surplus nalas, posing danger to thousands of families that have erected huts and structures in close proximity. However, there would be temporary relief if gates were built, he added.

Meanwhile Krishna Babu stated that revenue and civic administrations in state capital were put on high alert in view of Hussain Sagar filling to the brim. People residing in low-lying areas and those who have constructed houses by the side of Hussain Sagar surplus nala were being alerted from time to time, he added.

He informed that schools and community halls were identified to rehabilitate people in case of any eventuality. The help of local representatives and corporators were also sought to convince the people in low-lying areas about the impending danger, he said.
