Women\'s Day with Padman

On the occasion of International Women's Day, a run to support menstrual health awareness with the theme of 'Run4niine' with Padman Akshay Kumar has been organised by JCI (Junior Chamber International) India Zone XII in association with SVIT(Swami Vivekananda Institute of Technology) an initiative by Niine Sanitary Napkins held at SVIT College, Secunderabad, Hyderabad.

Free sanitary napkins were given to over 300 women present on the occasion.

Seven women were felicitated for their life time achievement in the various areas like media, medical, film industry and education etc.

More than 200 girls of SVIT College participated in the run and over 10 students were the winner for various competitions were also awarded.  

Renu Agarwal of JCI India Zone XII, NiinePrayaas representative speaking on the occasion said, "However, the 'Padman' movie has inspired women of our country but still there are many of them leftwho are not aware about the sanitary napkins. She said, Among 35 crore of women population in India only 18 per cent of women are using sanitary napkins and gearing up with hygiene awareness programmes there are lakhs of women still haven't used a sanitary pad instead they use clothe leading to various health hazards."

JC Kiran Bantu, zone president, JCI India Zone XII said, "The 'Run4niine' which has been great a success as on Women's Day Akshay Kumar have flagged off a nation-wide run in Lucknow to end taboos around menstruation. Under which here in Hyderabad the same run has been organised."
