7th All India DAD Volleyball Tournament ends on high note

Hyderabad: PCDA (P) Allahabad bagged the title and CDA Secunderabad stood in second position in the mens' category while CDA Chennai lifted the women's crown and CDA (O) Pune stood runners-up in the 7th All India Defence Accounts Department (DAD) Volleyball Tournament at Eagle Indoor Volleyball Stadium, 1 EME Centre, Secunderabad from June 19 to 21..

The tourney conducted by Controller of Defence Accounts (CDA), Secunderabad under the aegis of Defence Accounts Sports Control Board (DASCB), Delhi, witnessed the participation of eight men's team CGDA Delhi Cantt, PCDA (P) Allahabad, PCDA (O) Pune, PCDA (SWC) Jaipur, PCDA Bengaluru, CDA Secunderabad, CDA Guwahati, CDA (PD) Meerut – and six teams in the women's category PCDA Bengaluru, PCDA (O) Pune, PCA (Fys) Kolkata, PCDA (BR) New Delhi, CDA Chennai and CDA Jabalpur.

The three-day tournament was conducted on league-cum-knockout format for men and women separately.

The chief guest on the closing ceremony, A Visweswara Rao, IDAS, Principal Controller,PCDA (R&D) Hyderabad, gave away the trophies to the winners and runners.

Rao said: "Sports improve physical ability and skills in the employees to do day to day work more efficiently in the offices."

The host Controller, T Rambabu, IDAS, CDA, Secunderabad congratulated the teams. Y Raja Reddy, IDAS, Controller, IT & SDC was the guest of honour. Deputy Controllers Siva Sankar Bandi, Premsagar Meena, P Nivedita Rao, K. Lalbiakchhunga and a large number of D.A.D fraternity attended the closing ceremony. The tournament was inaugurated by Sanjiv Mittal, IDAS, Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) & Chairman, DASCB New Delhi on June 19.
