Abdul Raheem, Vijay clinch Telangana Kesari Wrestling championship title

Hyderabad: Abdul Raheem and K.Vijay Kumar clinched the 2nd Veer Telangana Kesari Wrestling Championship title in 70-100kg and 60-65kg categories respectively. The Championship was held at L.B Stadium.

Minister of Sports V.Srinivas Goud together with SATS Chairman Allipuram Venkateshwar Reddy were the chief guests for the event and gave away the prizes to the winners of the championship.

SATS Chairman said: "Wrestling is a combat sport which involves grappling techniques such as clinch fighting, throws and takedowns, joint locks, pins and other grappling holds. Wrestling is more useful in the present generation and also for the physical fitness.

"I am happy to see the youth putting up a tough challenge in the competition and would definitely be an inspiration for the next generations to follow and practice wrestling. I assure all my support and encouragement for the forthcoming championships as well," he added.
