A brilliant performance was showcased by Vinesh Phogat, who participated in the 53 kg category. Phogat won to bag a bronze medal to Vietnamese opponent Thi Ly Kieu by technical superiority. In one of the tough bouts, Phogat attempted to lock the opponent's legs but was overpowered by the opponent's upper-body lock.
