ECDG wins Inter State Emerging T20 Cricket tourney

Hyderabad: Emerging Cricketers Development Group Hyderabad (ECDG) team bagged the Inter State Emerging T20 Cricket Tournament title by defeating Kedar Cricket Academy by 27 runs in the title showdown held at Alstom Grounds, Pallavaram, Chennai on Thursday.

Devesh with a top score of 86 played a significant role as ECDG completed their innings with the scoreboard reading 174 for 6. In reply, Kedar Cricket Academy managed to take their total to 147 for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and had to settle down as runners-up of the tournament.

ECDG on the way to the final, had clinched a thrilling one-wicket over Venkat Cricket Academy in the semis. Chasing a 134-run victory target set by Venkat Cricket Academy, ECDG hope for a win were hanging in balance as they needed 6 runs from two balls. Batsman Amer put an end to the climax by scoring a huge six over midwicket and handed his side a place in the final.

The Inter State Emerging T20 Cricket Tournament was played between Kedar Cricket Academay, Asiatic Cricket Academy, Venkat Cricket Academy and Emerging Cricketers Development Group Hyderabad (ECDG) from April 23 to 25 in Chennai.
