HanumaVihari dedicates maiden Test hundred to his late father
India's HanumaVihari has dedicated his maiden Test ton to his late father. Vihari, who had batted at No 6 in the first innings of the ongoing Test against West Indies, scripted an exceptional knock to bring up his first hundred in Test cricket. In a vital contribution to India's winning chances in the game, the 25-year-old made 111 to stand as the highest scorer of the innings.
Speaking to media on the occasion, the young talent noted that it was an emotional day. Mentioning that he had lost his father during childhood, Vihari shared that it had always been his dream to dedicate his first international century to his father.
"My dad passed away when I was 12 years old. I had decided that when I play international cricket, I would dedicate my first hundred to my dad. Today is an emotional day and I hope he's proud wherever he is," Vihari said.

The Andhra batsman followed up his ton with a top class half-century in the second innings to help India amass a massive lead. Vihari remained not out on 53 and had joined hands with AjinkyaRahane to stitch a partnership of 111 runs for the fifth wicket to set the Windies a daunting target of 468 for victory.
In their pursuit, West Indies ended day 3 on 45-2 and are currently staring down the barrel as India look well set to clinch the series 2-0.
