Update: 2019-11-16 17:00 IST

India continued its winning spree in red-ball cricket as they crushed Bangladesh by an innings and 130 runs in the first Test at Indore to go one up in the ongoing two-match series.

Declaring their innings at 493-6 right at the start of Day 3, the hosts took the field with a massive lead of 343 runs. Ratting the Bangladeshi lineup once again was the pace trio of Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami. Extending their hostile exhibition from the first innings, the Indian pacers scalped five wickets in quick time, to leave the Bangladeshis staring the down the barrel at the stroke of lunch.

Senior batsman Mushfiqur Rahim though led a brief fight back to keep India at bay in the post lunch session. The 32-year-old, along with Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan, stitched consecutive half-century stands to frustrated ViratKohli's men. However, the inevitable soon followed with the Indian bowlers managing to barge through the door after the fall of Hasan, and bundling Bangladesh out for 213 in their second innings.

While Shami was once again the star of the show with 4 wickets, RavichandranAshwin provided good support by picking up 3 wickets.

Opening batsman Mayank Agarwal was adjudged the Player of the Match for his superlative double ton. The Indian pace battery also drew well-deserved plaudits for taking 14 wickets in the game and playing a crucial part in helping India pound Bangladesh.

Continuing to reign supreme in the World Test Championship Standings, India has now accumulated 300 points to lead the second-placed New Zealand by a long margin. The emphatic win also marked India's sixth straight victory in Test cricket.

The win has been met with overwhelming wishes from fans and experts on Twitter:
