India's ICC World Cup team to be selected on April 15
The Indian team for the next ICC World Cup in England and Wales will be selected on April 15.
The senior selection committee of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the captain of India, Virat Kohli, will meet in Mumbai next Monday. The 15-member squad is expected to announce shortly after that.
The World Cup begins on May 30, and the final will be played on July 14.
The last date to announce the World Cup squads is April 23, but the BCCI has decided to announce it eight days before the scheduled date.
Most of the slots as far as the Indian squad is concerned to seem determined, with most of the players choosing themselves. However, position number 4 in the batting order is expected to be discussed a little at the meeting.
India plays its first match of the World Cup against South Africa on June 5.
Meanwhile, the BCCI will get 2.09 crore rupees from Cricket Australia after reconciliation of accounts during the last 10 years.
