Update: 2019-12-10 12:30 IST

MS Dhoni reportedly is set to produce an anthology where stories of decorated army officers will be narrated.

Dhoni, an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment of the Territorial Army, wants to showcase the journey of people, who are selflessly serving the nation, through the show.

"The show will narrate stories of the brave Param Vir Chakra and Ashoka Chakra awardees. With compelling stories and intriguing content on board, the show is slated for a 2020 release," revealed a source, who also went on to mention that the show at the moment is being scripted and the team is busy with the formalities that are needed to finish before the shooting can go underway.

The show will be produced under Dhoni Entertainment Pvt Ltd in collaboration with StudioNext, the content creation wing of SET India. Although there is no confirmation yet, the show that is yet to be titled will mostly air on Sony TV.

After the Indian team crashed out of the 2019 Cricket World Cup, following the loss in the semi-final to New Zealand, Dhoni took a sabbatical. When questions about his retirement increased over the last few months, he finally broke his silence but he only said that he won't talk about his comeback until January.

"January tak mat poocho (don't ask me till January)," Dhoni said in a recent event in his hometown of Ranchi.

As reported by the Indian Express, Dhoni has spent a lot of time with the army during his ongoing sabbatical. "During his sabbatical from sports, Dhoni spent a lot of time with army officers. He even went on to complete a two-week stint with India's Territorial Army. That's how he got to know more about the brave soldiers. He understood the soldiers and their families' hardships. Wanting to bring their story to the fore, Dhoni decided to bankroll this project," a source revealed.

This is not Dhoni's first time as a producer. The Hotstar Special's Roar of the Lion, which featured the former Indian skipper himself, was also produced by him. The docu-drama narrated the historic story of Chennai Super Kings' comeback, post the two-year suspension, to lift the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 trophy.
