Rohit Sharma expresses disappointment over his dismissal against West Indies

India's World Cup outing against West Indies proved to be a one-sided affair. The men in blue looked in red hot form to register an emphatic win at Old Trafford on Thursday. While the batsmen managed to put on a par score on the board, the bowlers looked unstoppable as they skittled out the opposition cheaply to hand over a 125-run victory to India. However, a crunch moment from the game has become the centre of many discussions over the past few hours.

India's star opening batsman Rohit Sharma was in sublime touch whilst his stay at the crease. Scoring 18 off 23 balls, including a four and a six, the stylish right-hander looked assured before his innings cut short rather abruptly by a beauty from Kemar Roach.

Rohit Sharma was adjudged caught behind by the third umpire Michael Gough in the sixth over of the first innings. However, with the TV replays showing debatable evidence, many experts slammed the umpire for his call to rule Sharma out. Michael Gough's decision to overturn the on-field call of not out, became the talking point on social media with the fans targeting the English umpire.

It was also seen that Sharma, after returning to the dressing room, looked annoyed while watching the replays. Expressing his disappointment with a cheeky tweet, the 32-year-old took shared a photo of his dismissal where the ball is seen to be missing the bat by some margin.

The dismissal though, didn't prove to be too costly from the team's perspective as India ended up beating the Windies comfortably. They now take on England in an all-important clash at Edgbaston on 30 July.
