Indian cricketer Manish Pandey tied the knot with actress Ashrita Shetty only hours after leading Karnataka to a victory in the Syed Mushtaq Ali 2019 final on Monday.

Reigning champions Karnataka defended their title and it is their just second trophy since Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament came into existence in 2009-10 season.

Batting first, Karnataka posted 180 for 5 in 20 overs and their skipper Manish top-scored with unbeaten 60 from 45 balls. The second innings went down the wire, turned into a nail-biting affair before the defending champions triumphed in the final by just one run.

Manish, who was also named in India's squad for the upcoming limited-overs series against the West Indies, revealed about his wedding after Karnataka's win.

When asked about the home series against the Carribeans, which is scheduled to begin on Friday, said, "Looking forward to the India series, but before that, there is another important series for me, I am getting married tomorrow."

Since the stylish cricketer chose to play the final night before getting married and that too in a different city, he was hailed by the fans for his dedication towards his state team.

After Manish got married on Monday, wished began to pour on social media. "Wish you both all the happiness in the world. Trust me this will be your best innings. @im_manishpandey," Rohit Sharma, who was among the first cricketers to wish Manish, wrote on his official Twitter account.

The other big names to have wished the 30-year-old player are Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Vinay Kumar and Yusuf Pathan.

Manish replaced Vinay Kumar as Karnataka's skipper in the middle of the previous season and they have already won two titles under his leadership. Prior to the T20 tournament, Manish also led Karnataka to a win in this year's Vijay Hazare. Karnataka, in the meantime, has also become the first team to have won both the prestigious domestic tournaments in the same season.
