Virat Kohli picks his top two Test double hundreds

The second day of the ongoing Test between India and South Africa, in Pune, belonged to Virat Kohli.

The Indian skipper, who had resumed play at his overnight score of 63, assumed complete command at the crease as he dismantled the South African bowling unit. Leading the team from the front, the dashing player brought up his 26th Test ton to put India in a commanding position at lunch.

He then shifted through the gears swiftly to tear into the Proteas bowling attack. Dispatching the bowlers to all parts of the ground, Kohli looked unstoppable as he scored at a breathtaking rate to take the game away from the visitors. The 31-year-old soon notched up his seventh double century in Test cricket to register the most number of Test double hundreds for an Indian cricketer.

In a video posted by the BCCI, Virat Kohli said, "It feels great. It's a nice little thing to get along in your career. I struggled to get big scores initially but then as soon as you become the captain, you invariably think about the team all the time, you can't think about your own game. In that process, you end up batting more than you imagine."

The Indian skipper further revealed his two favourite double hundreds in the longest format. The superstar rated his 200s in Antigua and Mumbai as his most special ones yet.

"All double hundreds feel good. The top two would be the one in Antigua and the one against England in Mumbai. Those two double hundreds are special for me as one was away from home and another one came against England in challenging conditions," Kohli shared with bcci.tv.

Kohli's double century in Antigua, which had come in July 2016, marked his first 200 in any format at any level. His second favourite double ton, against England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, soon followed in December 2016.
