You deserved a better send off: Rohit Sharma on Yuvraj Singh's retirement
Leaving millions of fans teary-eyed, dynamic Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh decided to hang up his boots on Monday. Announcing the decision at a press conference in Mumbai, the 37-year-old said after 17 years of international cricket, he has "decided to move on". The World Cup champion added that cricket has given everything and has taught him to not to give up until last breath.
After the southpaw announced his retirement, social media has been flooded with wishes from all corners. Several Indian legends, including Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, VVS Laxman, Harbhajan Singh, and Virat Kohli, congratulated Yuvraj on ending a successful career and wished him well for his future endeavours. However, one tweet from Rohit Sharma has been fetching attention.
The Indian vice-captain opined that his former team-mate did not get a fitting farewell and deserved a better send-off. Taking to Twitter on Monday night, Rohit Sharma wrote, "You don't know what you got till it's gone. Love you brotherman You deserved a better send off."

The heartening camaraderie between the two Indian cricketers is currently winning the internet. Rohit Sharma, who recently captained Yuvraj Singh while leading Mumbai Indians in the IPL, is known to share a close association with the flamboyant left-hander.
Speaking at the press conference earlier in the day, Yuvraj said he was offered a farewell game if he failed the Yo-Yo test. However, after Yuvraj managed to pass the test, he was never given a chance to make a comeback into the team.
"I did not tell anyone in BCCI that I want to play a last match. If I had the potential, I would've gone to the ground. I was told that if I couldn't pass the Yo-Yo test, I would get to play a retirement match. I said there was no requirement for any retirement match and I'll go back home quietly if I don't pass the Yo-Yo test. But I passed the Yo-Yo test and the rest is not my call," the Indian cricketer said at the press conference.
Yuvraj further refrained from making comments on the Yo-Yo test. He shared that he did not want to make any controversial remarks now as the Indian team is participating in the World Cup and he will speak up sometime later.
