First ever Handball Championship in Telangana begins today

Hyderabad: The first ever 'All India Inter-District Under-15 Handball Championship' will be held at MLR college Grounds in Hyderabad from May 25 to 29 with a grand opening ceremony scheduled at 5 pm.

Players from all over India will be competing in the five-day event organised by the Telangana Handball Association under the auspices of Indian Olympic Association, Handball Federation of India, Sports Authority of India and the Sports Authority of Telangana State, a press release said on Friday.

Organisers expect a tough and thrilling competition and hopes to bring together the entire sporting community, athletes, coaches, academies, parents and federations under one roof.

Srinivas Goud, Minister of Youth Services and Sports, Govt of Telangana will be the chief guest for the event and the Rajshekar Reddy, MD - MLR Institutions will be the special guest.

Malla Reddy, Minister of Labour, Employment, Women and Child Development, Vivekanand, MLA Qutubullapur, Venkateshwara Reddy, Chairman of SATS, Viplav Kumar, Chairman- TSUFID, Dr.M.Rama Subramani IPS, President of Handball Federation of India and Anandeshwar Panday, Secretary General of Handball Federation of India will be the guests of honour.
