Bambolim (Goa): Hyderabad FC set off their Hero Indian Super League campaign with a 1-0 win over Odisha FC at the GMC Athletic Stadium, here on Monday.

Hyderabad FC exploited the young OFC defences to good advantage, with only a lone goal staring like a mirage. Odisha's skipper handled the ball inadvertently inside his team's box, conceding a penalty kick. Aridane Santana made best use of the penalty to earn the team lead in the 35th minute .

Hyderabad showcased complete control in the first 45. Odisha FC came back fairly strong after the break and it looked like they would equalise. They missed on a couple of close opportunities but Hyderabad later put the plug on any further adventures.

Liston Colaco was exceptional and almost made it two goals for Hyderabad. But they would be happy nonetheless. The first-ever clean sheet for them, along with 3 points.
