Premier Handball League draft, auction held in Kanpur
Hyderabad: As many as 62 players including international players were sold as the Premier Handball League (PHL) franchises splurged their way into fierce bids at the 2020 Player Auction in Kanpur on Monday.
As expected, there were a couple of big buys, economy picks and some surprises with players Atul, Hardiv, Aveen standing out as the costliest players in the bidding, a press release said on Tuesday.
Around 7 teams have registered their names. They are Telangana Tigers, Dhakad Delhi, Veerans, Bengal Blues, Redhawks, Rajasthan, Up Icons and Tamil Veerans.
Rama Subramniyam, president of Handball Federation of India, Anandeshwar Pande, general secretary of Handball Federation of India, Jagan Mohan Rao Arishnapally, vice president of Handball Federation of India who is also Chairman of Premier Handball League graced the occasion together with all the dignitaries and team owners.
