Chief Advisor to Govt takes up Green Challenge

Hyderabad: Dr Rajiv Sharma, Chief Advisor to Govt. has planted tree saplings under Green India Challenge in the premises of Hyderabad Metro Rail Bhavan here on today.

As Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy has proposed his name, Dr Sharma said, "I have accepted the proposal and planted three varieties of saplings at Metro Rail Bhavan today".

Green India Challenge is an initiative patronized by the Member of Parliament J. Santhosh Kumar and he said over three crore plants have been raised so far in different parts of the Telangana state.

Green India Challenge creates awareness on the environment and helps to raise a systematic plantation in the entire state, he said.

Under this programme, Dr Rajiv Sharma has now proposed the names of three senior officers of Govt of Telangana to take the challenge forward. They are Adhar Sinha, Spl. Chief Secretary, GAD; Arvind Kumar Prl. Secretary, MAUD Dept and Anil Kumar, Member Secretary, Pollution Control Board.

The three officers have accepted the challenge and soon they would take up the activity, he added.

Managing Director, HMRL, NVS Reddy and other senior officers attended.
