Amazon in collaboration with Cleartrip launches Flight Bookings in India
Amazon has introduced flight bookings in India without much hype. The online retailer has joined hands with Cleartrip for the new service, which can be accessed on the Amazon Pay control panel in the Amazon app and its website. The online retailer seems to offer a quite basic flight booking experience at present and only domestic flights bookings are supported. In an attempt to attract consumers to use the new feature, Amazon also provides as much as Rs. 2,000 as Amazon Pay cashback.
Flight bookings at Amazon India seem to have started quietly on Thursday night, officially it has not made any announcement. Amazon is not promoting the new feature on the homepage of its application or website currently.
According to frequently asked questions shared on Amazon, the company's participation in flight bookings seems to be limited to only providing a space for flight bookings and Cleartrip will take care of all the post-booking support for the customer.
Amazon flight booking feature highlights these offers of lowest cancellation fees, cashback rewards, transparent pricing and easy booking experience. According to the Amazon website, cashback offers are available until May 31. The company is offering Rs. 800 to Rs. 2,000 cash back to Prime subscribers and Rs 400 to Rs. 1,600 money back for non-prime subscribers which will be based on the value of the booking.
Amazon has been steadily expanding Amazon Pay's functions in India and the company has even added support for peer-to-peer payments in the service recently. Currently, Amazon Pay also offers support for mobile top-ups, DTH top-ups and various bill payments.
