Update: 2019-10-28 10:31 IST

There is one more year to go for the launch of PlayStation 5, about the console slowly Sony is releasing more and more details. In a new job ad posted on its website, Sony has claimed that the PlayStation 5 will be the 'world's fastest console'.

The job listing is for a Senior Cloud Engineering Manager at Sony Interactive Entertainment. It reads that the successful candidate will 'be one of the leaders of an elite team that is super excited to launch the upcoming world's fastest console (PS5) in 2020.'

The listing came just after Sony confirmed the name and launch date for its next-generation console.

The console will launch in time for 'Holiday 2020' and is called the PlayStation 5.

In a blog, Jim Ryan, President and CEO of SIE, said about the news: "Since we originally unveiled our next-generation console in April, we know that there's been a lot of excitement and interest in hearing more about what the future of games will bring.

"Today I'm proud to share that our next-generation console will be called PlayStation 5, and we'll be launching in time for Holiday 2020." Mr Ryan also disclosed some of the key innovations to expect in the PlayStation 5 controller, in the blog.

The first innovation is haptic feedback, which will replace the 'rumble' technology in current controllers.

Mr Ryan described: "With haptics, you truly feel a broader range of feedback, so crashing into a wall in a race car feels much different than making a tackle on the football field.

"You can even get a sense for a variety of textures when running through fields of grass or plodding through mud."

Secondly, Sony is including 'adaptive triggers' in the controller's trigger buttons.

Mr Ryan further added: "Developers can program the resistance of the triggers so that you feel the tactile sensation of drawing a bow and arrow or accelerating an off-road vehicle through rocky terrain. In combination with the haptics, this can produce a powerful experience that better simulates various actions."
