WhatsApp Latest Features: Read later, multi-device support and many more
WhatsApp released a couple of new features in the past. The popular messaging app released features for disappearing messages, WhatsApp payments, bulk delete, buy button, and many more. However, WhatsApp is not done yet, as the messaging app is working on several other features that would be coming to the app soon.
According to Wabetainfo, some of the features that WhatsApp could get are Read Later, Mute videos before sending, Report to WhatsApp and more. The features are currently under development, and their traces were detected in the latest updates. Know all about the upcoming features.
WhatsApp Read Later feature
As per reports, WhatsApp is working on a feature called Read Later. This feature will enable users to read your messages "later". WhatsApp feature tracker WaBetainfo reports that the Read Later feature is a modified version of the Archived Chats feature now available. When the feature is activated, you will no longer receive calls or chat messages that you have archived.
"Read Later" is a higher version of "Archived Chats", which includes Vacation mode, to keep all archived chats in your archive, even when you receive a new message. Even when a chat is in your "Read later", you will not get notified from it, "said Wabetainfo on its blog.
Wabetainfo even shared a screenshot of the feature from one of their beta updates.
The image showed a WhatsApp pop-up message saying "The file is now Read Later", WhatsApp says the feature helps "reduce interruptions." This feature is the same as the vacation mode feature that WhatsApp was supposedly working on.
WhatsApp to allow users to report unwanted contacts
Sometimes blocking a contact does not help, sometimes it is necessary to inform WhatsApp to prevent the contact from being a threat again. Therefore, WhatsApp has been reported to be working on a feature that would allow users to report unwanted chats or groups from within the app.
The app will allow users to report contacts just the way accounts are reported on Facebook.
After the necessary verification, WhatsApp will take action against the contact. The feature is not yet available for deployment, but it was released in one of the beta updates. Keep updating your beta app from the Google Play Store to get the new features.
Multi-Device support
Reportedly WhatsApp is also working on multi-device support for a longer time. The feature has reportedly reached its final testing stage and may be ready for deployment in the short term. The feature would allow users to login to an account using four different devices. Currently, a user can only log in to WhatsApp using the web application and the mobile application at the same time.
Customizable wallpapers
WhatsApp is working on another latest feature called Advanced Wallpaper Feature. This would allow users to change different wallpapers for different contacts. The feature is under development and will be implemented after a successful test.
