Apple launched a 10.2-inch iPad, know the prices and specifications

Apple launched its first hardware product, the entry-level 10.2-inch iPad. The new 7th-Gen iPad comes with a traditional iPad design with thick bezels and Touch ID. It also supports the keyboard, Apple Pencil and comes with a redesigned home screen with iPadOS.

The iPad is priced at Rs 29,900 in India for the Wi-Fi-only model and Rs 40,900 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model. The iPad is ready for pre-orders today and will start shipping at the end of the month.

Apple's new iPad comes with a 10.2-inch Retina Display and is powered by the A10 Fusion chipset. "The new iPad packs even more value into our most popular and affordable iPad model featuring a bigger 10.2-inch Retina display, support for Apple Pencil and for the first time, the full-size Smart Keyboard," said Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of Product Marketing.

The 10.2-inch iPad ships with iPadOS that brings a redesigned Home Screen, updated Split View and the ability to switch between multiple apps with Slide Over.

Apple Arcade is now available on the App Store. In Arcade, a dedicated section, you will find games exclusive to iOS. These games are not available on any other mobile platform, said Apple. Apple Arcade will be available from September 19 in over 150 countries across the globe. Apple Arcade will cost Rs 99 per month with a 1-month free trial.

When it comes to its "services" lineup, Apple TV+ is Apple's big play. Apple will be competing with Netflix and Amazon Prime Video by launching its video streaming service. The first shows will be available on Apple TV+ from November 1 and will be available for Rs 99 per month in India as well. Users who buy a new iPhone, iPad or Apple TV starting today will get a 1-year subscription to Apple TV+ for free.
