Find Nearest COVID-19 Testing Centres Using Google Assistant, Maps and Search
Now users can find details on nearest Covid-19 testing centres near them using Google Search, Google Assistant, and Google Maps.
Google has joined hands with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and MyGov to arrange for the information on authorized testing centres. Currently, the feature is accessible in English and eight Indian languages that include Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, and Marathi.
On the search result page, users will now find a new "Testing" tab when they're searching a coronavirus-related topic on Google Search and Google Assistant. The tab will present a list of testing labs nearby. Before getting started for the test, it will also offer other related information and supervision.
On Google Maps, you can search for the testing labs by entering keywords like "coronavirus testing" or "COVID testing". Google said in a release, and the results will show a link to Google search for the government-mandated requirements.
Working closely with @ICMRDELHI & @mygovindia, Google Maps, Google Assistant and Search are now beginning to surface testing centres in Hindi, English & 7 regional languages. Before going to a testing centre, call the Govt. of India helpline - 1075 & get a doctor's prescription. pic.twitter.com/VOichzCLH9

Google said the Search, Assistant, and Maps currently attribute 700 testing labs across 300 cities. Google promised that in future, it would soon add more testing labs.
"Google is working with authorities to identify and add more testing labs located across the country and reiterates that it is important to follow the recommended guidelines that help determine testing eligibility before visiting," Google further added.
