Bengaluru: Hyderabad-based Jaitra devices and system LLP launched new bipolar Air Disinfectant & Purifier, Praan in a pan-India release on Sunday. Built with the ability to inactivate and purify rooms actively, the device is expected to herald a mask-free future.

The device uses the bipolar ionisation technology that has been used to eliminate pathogens in food in the US since the 1970s. Now, the technology has been adapted to fight against the SARS-COV-2 virus.

The filter-less devices can inactivate pathogens like SARS-COV-2 (COVID19), Norovirus, Influenza, Legionella virus, Rhinovirus, Varicella zoster virus, TB bacteria, Staphylococcus bacteria, E Coli bacteria, Pseudomonas bacteria, Bacillus cereus bacteria, fungi and moulds all at the same time.

"Bipolar Air Disinfectant & Purifier", has been testified effectively against various pathogens, viruses, bacteria, and fungus. It is the first-ever Make in India product to adopt the Bipolar Ionization technology, which works against harmful microbes by starting a chemical reaction on the cell membrane surface of the viruses and bacteria making them dead." said Co-Chairman, Jaitra Devices & Systems LLP & Co-Chairman & Founder of MaxiVision Eye, Dr Kasu Prasad Reddy.

The device can purify an entire room in 60 minutes and continue to deactivate the pathogen while it is active. It can cover a range of 300sq feet of room in the first hour and it increases the longer you run the device.

The company has implemented the technology into three models- wall mount (closed rooms), rooftop model (buses and trains), and H-VAC (ventilation systems). They are in the process of designing a cupholder model for cars.

Unlike most disinfectants and purifying solutions, this product utilises no kind of chemical or harmful substances to purify the room and also can perform purifying action while the person is in the room. Using just nearly 5Kv of electricity, the device also remains ozone-free. It also does not use any filters hence requiring bare minimum maintenance that can last up to 4 years as per the company data.

The company claims that the device is going to be the most demanded and required product in the coming future. The company is selling its device at the starting price of Rs 9000 for its model.

"For a product to be called made-in India, you need to make at least 50 per cent of components in India but we are proud to say that the product has been made with 90 per cent made-in India components," said Dr Kasu Prasad Reddy.
