ISRO's RISAT-2BR1 and all nine foreign satellites successfully placed in orbit
On Wednesday India launched its latest spy satellite, RISAT-2BR1, and nine foreign satellites through the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) on its 50th mission.
India's space agency ISRO developed the RISAT-2BR1, which is a radar imaging earth observation satellite. The 628 kg satellite, meant for applications in various fields like agriculture, forestry, and disaster management support and has a mission life of five years.

The launch vehicle, PSLV-C48, took off at 3:25 pm from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
The other satellites carried are customer satellites, including one each from Israel, Italy, Japan and six from the United States.

As it is the 50th flight of the PSLV and also the 75th vehicle mission from Sriharikota, the launch marks a significant milestone for the space agency.
