Microsoft allows you to follow YouTube creators in Edge browser test

Microsoft has started testing deeper YouTube integration in its Edge browser. Canary's latest developer Edge builds include a new "followable web" feature that allows you to follow your favorite content creators on YouTube easily.

Reddit user Leopeva64 speckled a new YouTube follow button appearing in the address bar of YouTube pages. The following creators will add them to a feed that is part of the Collections features in Edge. Looks like the feature is in the early preview stages and is not yet supported by all YouTube content creators. The feed created in Collections allows you to see the recent posts of the creators you follow.

This deeper integration with YouTube is likely to extend to other parts of the web. Microsoft's Edge Follow Web feature resembles Google's experimental feature in Chrome that allows people to follow blogs and creators to get the latest content after it's posted. This is essentially an RSS extension within Chrome and includes a follow button.

Microsoft is only testing this new Edge feature with a restricted number of Edge Canary testers, as part of what the company calls "controlled deployments." As a result, the software giant hasn't officially detailed its plans for the web tracking feature in Edge, but we expect to hear more about this modern RSS feed in the coming weeks.
