Microsoft to Integrate Gmail, Google Drive and Calendar to Outlook

Microsoft is trying its best to make it easier for users to access content from certain services that are being offered by Google. The company is doing this by incorporating three important Google apps in its Outlook email client - Gmail, Google Drive and Calendar. There's no official announcement on this yet, but some users have started seeing this as an alert inside Outlook. One of the Twitter users were able to connect his Outlook account with Gmail and got access to Drive and Calendar also. A screenshot has been shared on the microblogging website showing the alert.

"Gmail+Outlook. Add your Google Mail and Calendar to Outlook and easily manage everything in one place," states the alert along with the options 'Not now' and 'Try it.' It is worth adding that Microsoft Outlook already gives the option to merge Gmail, but that is not as deeply integrated. For instance, deleting your emails in Gmail from the Outlook client won't delete them but will rather hide them.

As per the report, the new Gmail and Outlook integration works just like the mobile app, for different accounts they have different inboxes. The Calendar integration is a nifty addition, and with Drive integration lets you attach documents directly in both Gmail and Outlook mails. However, the new feature looks like a test as the user was unable to add more than one Gmail account and faced page refresh when switching between Outlook and Gmail accounts.

For Gmail users, this integration won't be a surprise as Google's email client has already has integrated Calendar, Keep notes, Dropbox, Trello, Slack, Evernote and other services inside Gmail. These can be accessed on the extreme right side from the vertical bar.
