Redmi K30 is under progress, will support Netcom 5G

Update: 2019-08-27 14:11 IST

Last month in India, the Chinese tech giant launched the Redmi K20, and we're already hearing about its successor. And this news is not based on some rumour or leak; it comes directly from Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing. He also said the Redmi K30 would have 5G support.

Weibing shared this info on his Weibo page, simply saying (translated): "Redmi K30 will support full Netcom 5G!" At first, this confirms that K30 is already a work in progress. Most of us expected a successor after the K20, but it's nice to know officially.

The next big deal is 5G as of now. Presently, Xiaomi offers the Mi Mix 3 5G, and the Redmi K30 would be the first 5G device from the Redmi brand. So, that indicates a reasonable price rise over the K20. Except this, we don't have any other information about the Redmi K30.

The K20 Pro sports a triple rear cameras; runs on the Snapdragon 855 SoC, powered by a 4,000 mAh battery, and pop-up selfie camera. Even with moderate improvements, the K30 should turn out to a great device.
