Snap announced a lot of new features for Snapchat at the Snap Summit 2020. The new features include original shows, Minis, new lenses, a new navigation bar, and some new games.

Minis was the highlight of the event. Minis is a suite of mini-apps prepared by third-party developers that will run inside Snapchat. Minis will be assimilated into the Snapchat chat window.

Snap announced seven Minis, including a Coachella app, a mini Headspace app, Movie Tickets by Atom, and Tembo an app for students.

Snap said, Minis are "built with HTML5, so they're easy to develop. And they work for all Snapchatters, on any device, with no installation required."

Now Snapchat also has a navigation bar for the first time called "action bar". The navigation bar allows users to discover local businesses on Snapchat's Snap Map feature quickly.

Snapchat also announced ten new original shows like Coach Kev, starring comedian Kevin Hart, Queen of Stylez, a documentary series.

Moreover, now Snapchat also allows users to use the in-app camera to "scan" plants and dogs. The feature is called PlantSnap can identify 90 percent of plants and trees. The Dog Scanner app enables users to identify nearly 400 breeds.

Later this year, Snapchat will also integrate Yuka, which will allow users to scan packaged foods for nutrition details. Snap also introduced 10 new games for the app including Bitmoji Paint. Snap will now enable users to play with their Snapchat avatars within games. Scrabble GO and Uno have already integrated the feature.

No Snapchat's Discover tool has a new feature called 'Happening Now', which shows editorially curated headlines. Snap has signed 'multi-year deals' with companies like Disney, ESPN, NBCUniversal, ViacomCBS, the NBA, and the NFL.

You will also see something called a 'Dynamic Lens' and 'Local Lens' on Snapchat. The Dynamic lens will give realtime information. As part of its 'shared AR world,' the Local Lens allows users to come together and digitally paint a building around them.
