UIDAI Started Aadhaar Seva Kendra for Online Application and Updating of Aadhaar Cards
To simplify the application and updating of Aadhaar cards, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has initiated Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) in seven cities of India. These Kendras will be run in the style of Passport Seva Kendras. The applicant can book an online appointment to get various services, as of now the Aadhaar Seva Kendras are functional in Delhi, Chennai, Bhopal, Agra, Hisar, Vijayawada and Chandigarh.
This week the Patna and Guwahati centres would also be made active said UIDAI.
The Aadhaar-issuing body is planning to start 114 centres in 53 cities by the end of the year across the country. This project may cost around ₹300-400 crore.
Not only can one apply for a new Aadhaar card via these UIDAI-run centres, but you can also update your name, address, mobile number, email id, date of birth, gender and biometrics (photo, fingerprints, and iris) data.
Aadhar card applicants and existing holders can take an online appointment at UIDAI's website to book a date and time slot for getting various Aadhaar-related services.

Delhi has got two Aadhaar centres at Akshardham Metro Station and Inderlok Metro Station.
UIDAI said that the ASKs would have a token system where the resident first gets a token for their Aadhaar related work and then moves to a 'verifier' for document verification. Once the verification is completed, the resident moves to 'cash counter' for payment of ₹50 (charges for Aadhaar update, if needed) and then assigned an 'operator counter' from the 16 operator work stations. The entire token movement is displayed on digital display screens for queue management and smooth movement.
The Kendras can handle up to 1,000/500 enrolments and update requests each per day and will be active for six days a week, including weekends from 9:30 am to 6 pm. The centres will be closed on Tuesdays and public holidays and will be working on weekends.
These Kendras enable you to take an online advance appointment and visit the Adhaar centre at your convenience.
