WhatsApp to bring this 'exciting' new photo feature

WhatsApp, the Meta-owned instant messaging app, brings a new drawing feature to the Android app, while the desktop app gets new and updated chat bubbles. This comes when WhatsApp is reportedly working on message reactions that will enable users to reply to messages with just an emoji. As per WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo, the drawing tool will enable users to draw on images and videos. This feature will be an extension of the pencil tool that users already have in the app.

The report hints that WhatsApp will soon add new drawing tools to the Android app. This will bring two new pens to draw on images and videos through a future update. At present, WhatsApp has a single pen tool that allows them to doodle or mark up images, but with the new feature, users will get a choice of a thinner pen and a thicker pen. In addition, the report also mentions that the messaging app is also working on a blurring tool that may also be introduced in a future version. The news has been found in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.22.3.5.

The WABetaInfo report also specifies that the instant messaging app is giving its Windows and macOS apps a new color with WhatsApp beta for Desktop 2.2201.2.0. The new colors will be visible in the dark theme, with the chat bubbles appearing greener than the existing color.

WhatsApp is reportedly trying to pack more features this year. These include message reactions, a Community feature, the ability to see the sender's profile picture in the notification (iOS), and more. It was also recently reported that WhatsApp will bring a new feature that will allow users to listen to voice memos in the background.

Recently, a WhatsApp scam called Rediroff.com appeared. The scam has been circulating on the Meta-owned instant messaging app for some time now. As per the reports, scammers use the WhatsApp scam to steal users' personal and financial details, such as bank and card details. The spam link can also infect Windows PCs and iOS and Android smartphones.
