Vishwa Hindu Parishad demands arrest of pastor in Karimnagar
Karimnagar: Demanding that the pastors should be prevented from playing with the lives of innocent people in the name of church, Vishwa Hindu Parishad district secretary Utukuri Radhakrishna Reddy and Bajran Dal zonal convener G Pradeep along with the activists staged a dharna at Karimnagar Collectorate on Thursday. Later they submitted a memorandum to District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed, seeking him to look into the matter and do the needful.
It may be recalled that 21-year-old Rajesh, native of Maddirala village, Suryapet district, was brought to Calvary church at Somagudem village, Kasipet mandal, Adilabad district, hoping for a miraculous cure to his fever as reportedly promised by the pastor. But Rajesh died on May 25 after four days of being kept at the church premises.
VHP and Bajrang Dal leaders alleged that Rajesh lost his life as the Calvary church pastor misguided him by asking him to depend on God instead of visiting a doctor. They demanded the Collector that the pastor Praveen and his wife Rama Devi alias Sister Sharon should be arrested immediately and to pay ex gratia of Rs 25 lakhs to the deceased family.
