1 crore distributed under Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak in Karimnagar

Karimnagar: Unlike any other Chief Minister in the country, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had introduced several innovative schemes for the welfare of various sections of the people living in the state, said MLA Gangula Kamalakar.

The MLA distributed cheques of Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak worth about Rs 28,28,480 to about 30 beneficiaries at a programme at the Collectorate auditorium here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kamalakar said the CM after understanding the problems of poor parents, who have daughters, had introduced two schemes Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak under which the government will sanction Rs 1 lakh to help them in getting their daughters married.

The implementation of all the welfare schemes that were introduced are being implemented perfectly in the district and all the beneficiaries are happy for getting benefits from various schemes, he added. Nearly Rs 1 crore has been handed over to the beneficiaries under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes till date under Karimnagar constituency.

The MLA said that there are a few cheques in pending, which will be cleared as early as possible. The beneficiaries will get the cheques under the scheme if they apply 15 days before the date of wedding, he informed.
