10 labourers injured in accident in Khammam

Khammam: In a tragic incident, about 10 daily labourers, including seven women, were injured in a road accident when the auto they were travelling hit a lorry near Kudumulapadu village in Aswaraopet mandal on Saturday. The injured were shifted to Area Hospital in Kothagudem town.

According to sources, an auto with passengers was going to Lankalapalli village in Kukunur mandal of Andhra Pradesh from Vinayakapuram village in Aswaraopet mandal in Khammam district with 15 labourers including women, who were going to work in cotton fields.

Near Kudumulapadu village of the same mandal, the auto hit the rear-end of a lorry as the lorry driver applied sudden brakes to avoid hitting goats on the road. Out of the 15 labourers, including the auto driver, 10 passengers were injured.
