100-km cycle rally to create awareness on pollution today
Karimnagar: For creating awareness among the people about how seriously the environment is polluted due to the emission of poisonous gases from various automobiles, industries and factories, a 100-km cycle rally is going to be taken out on October 20, informed the District Cycling Association chairman Dr V Narendar Reddy.
In a statement released on Saturday, Narendar Reddy said that under the District Cycling Association several programmes are taken up for creating awareness among the people about the pollution that is affecting the environment.
To take the messagae widely to the people a massive programme of 100-km rally is going to be organised from Telangana Chowk of Karimnagar to Basanth Nagar of Peddapalli district and then from Basanth Nagar to Telangana Chowk of Karimnagar on Sunday.
With increasing number of vehicles the environment is being polluted with the poisonous gases that are emitted from those vehicles and several species of living organisms on verge of extinction due to pollution effect.
Moreover, use of cycle will not only protect the environment from pollution but also helps to keep the body fit and healthy in condition, he pointed out. Those who will complete the 100-km cycle rally successfully will be felicitated by the hands of District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed, he added.
