2 dacoits detained under PD Act

Hyderabad: Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat has detained two dacoity gang offenders under PD Act on Monday.

According to police, accused A Naveen Kumar (29) was eking his livelihood by plying an auto. As his meagre earnings could not meet his lavish spending, he decided to make easy money by committing thefts.

In the year 2014 he was sent to jail in six cases and was detained under PD Act by Hyderabad City police also.

After being released from the jail, in the year 2017 he was arrested by Bowenpally Police in case of kidnapping a girl.

He was released on bail in the month of November 2018, he later came in to contact with locality friends identified as D Yadagiri, B Pavan, K Vikash and D Shaker and formed a gang and started committing

dacoity in the limits of Rachakonda Commissionerate.

Another accused D Yadagiri was also plying auto for his livelihood by taking on daily hire basis. He hatched a plan to make easy money by committing thefts and was arrested in 2017.

Later, he came in contact with the gang and started committing thefts. In the year 2019, the gang committed as many as 15 dacoity, robbery, house burglaries, cell phone thefts and other property offences.

Keesara Police arrested the accused persons on June 19, and they were remanded to judicial custody and lodged in Central Prison at Cherlapally.
