2-day district-level sports meet begins in Khammam

Khammam: Sports and games help as stressbusters, stated Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar here on Wednesday while launching the two-day district-level 'Sports and Games Meet -2019' at Sardar Patel Stadium in Khammam.

Speaking on the occasion, Puvvada said in sports competitions, winning and losing were common but participation in competitions was what really counts.

He said the State government was giving importance to development of sports and has released funds for the construction of playgrounds and sports auditoriums across the State.

Puvvada requested the sports teachers to encourage students and help them enjoy the sports. Zilla Parishad Chairman L Kamal Raju, Mayor Dr Papalal, Corporator CH Narayana Rao, School Games Federation secretary Satyanarayana Reddy, District Sports Officer Parandama Reddy, Mandal Education Officer (Urban) Srinivas Rao, Physical Education Teachers and others were present.
