21,000 policemen deployed for Ganesh festival in Hyderabad

The Commissioner of Police said that around 9,000 volunteers are expected to coordinate with the security and take care of the queues at the pandals. He also said that closed-circuit cameras would be arranged at the prominent Ganesh pandals in the city and at the procession routes.

"The vehicles carrying idols will be provided with colour-coded stickers for identifying the idols during the procession coming from Rachakonda and Cyberabad commissionerates," the CP said.

He also urged the citizens to go with eco-friendly Ganesh idols.
