211 purchasing centres will be established: JC GV Shyam Prasad Lal
Karimnagar: Establish grain purchasing centres at the earliest and purchase food grains produced during Kharif season from farmers, ordered Joint Collector GV Shyam Prasad Lal. He held a review meeting with the officials of district civil supplies, agricultural, cooperation and marketing departments at his chamber in Karimnagar on Monday.
Speaking at the meeting, the JC said about 211 purchasing centres will be established across the district this year for purchasing food grains produced during this Kharif season. He ordered the officials concerned to provide all facilities like electronic weighing machine, legal meteorology stamp, tables, chairs, lights, gunny bags, storerooms, tarpaulins and moisture measuring machines in all purchasing centres for the convenience of farmers along with drinking water facilities.
The officials were told to create awareness among the farmers to bring food grains after drying them in their houses; to weigh and buy the grains after farmers bring them to the purchasing centre; and to shift the grains to rice mills immediately without delay.
Submit daily report about how many food grains were purchased from farmers along with the cooperation of AEO of agricultural department, he added.
District agriculture officer V Sridhar, district cooperative society department officer Sri Mala, marketing fepartment DD Padmavathi, MEPMA DD Pavan Kumar, DRDA APD Venkateshwarlu, civil supply organisation district manager Srikanth and officials of civil supply, labour and DCMS departments were present along with others.
